Semra Stylist BlogMy name’s Semra and I’m a freelance fashion stylist, here to keep you up to date with all the latest looks. This week has been a little sad for me – I’ve been fashion editor at MixMag for the past 2 years and this week was my second to last ever shoot for them. I did the shoot with the photographer Tomo, who with his eccentric style could possibly be up there with David LaChapelle one day... watch, this space! He is brilliant at taking unusual pictures of regular objects. In this case he used a tatty old a disco ball I had and super imposed the models on to it afterwards in postproduction. My disco ball has never looked so good, of course the model looks great too! The shoot was quite strange because after shooting all of our random objects, we then had to shoot the models and imagine that they were. Sitting/ flying/ holding/ hanging on to imaginary things. I had some very funny pictures of all this that I really wanted to share with you here... But somehow a drunken friend managed to delete every single picture from my camera. So alas, I can't show you. I went for a total Eighties look and used two models who had cropped bleached hair a la Agyness Deyn. Clotheswise, I went for prom dresses, little jackets and lots of layering...I am in love with this little corset dress that I used in the shoot, it’s from urban outfitters. It’s SO Eighties Madonna! I loved it so much that I actually tried it on at the shoot but unfortunately am not endowed enough to full out the cups! All for now, Semra.
